Guidance for clinics

• HFEA Code of Practice: The new Code came into force in 2007. It is made up of current and revised guidance as well as the HFEA Assisted Conception Standards.
• Chair's letters: Sent by the Chair of the HFEA, the letters tell centres what they are expected to do in light of the policy change.
• Chief Executive's letters: Chief Executive's letters notify licensed centres of changes to HFEA operating procedures.
• Directions: The Authority has the power to issue Directions to centres under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990.  Directions are essentially rules.
